Gunmen shot dead an opposition lawmaker in Kinshasa, police said Wednesday, four days before the Democratic Republic of Congo holds general elections.

Marius Gangale of the Movement for the Liberation of Congo was attacked as he was stuck in a traffic jam late Tuesday, Kinshasa police chief Jean de Dieu Oleko told AFP without elaborating.
