The Occupy protest in front of Amsterdam’s Euronext stock exchange building is continuing despite wind and the heavy rain which has been falling in the Dutch capital for several hours.
Dozens of demonstrators greeted stock exchange workers when they arrived for work on Tuesday. The protesters had spent the night outside the building, sleeping in one or other of the approximately 60 tents erected on the square.
In The Hague, there are 30 tents outside parliament. They are allowed to remain there until Friday.
The Occupy movement has now launched another protest in the city of Nijmegen near the German border. In the central city of Utrecht, ten to 15 people have erected tents in front of the town hall. Protesters are also planning a demonstration in the northern city of Groningen on Saturday.
