Falklands to hold referendum on political status in 2013

The Falkland Islands will hold a referendum on their political status in the first half of 2013, the British ruled territory's government announced Tuesday, saying it did not wish to be ruled by Argentina."We have decided, with the full support of the British government, to hold a referendum on the Falkland Islands to eliminate any possible doubt about our wishes," said Gavin Short, chairman of the Falklands' Legislative Assembly.
